Kubernetes Pod Security Standards

Pod Security Standards (PSS) define three distinct policy levels that cover the security spectrum for Kubernetes pods.

The Three Levels

Privileged

Unrestricted policy, providing the widest possible level of permissions. Use for system-wide infrastructure workloads.

Baseline

Minimally restrictive policy that prevents known privilege escalations. Suitable for most general workloads.

Restricted

Heavily restricted policy, following current Pod
